It takes time for big ships to turn and unfortunately the same is said for large hosting companies, but, turn they do and we are extremely pleased to announce that our hosting company has now gone green!

Most of design conscious .com clients websites are hosted with Hostgator and they have announce they are now 130% Carbon Neutral. It’s hard to imagine that they can be 130% carbon free – but that’s what they reckon. Hostgator are using wind generated electricity and they have purchased renewable energy credits to take their new green status to the max.

Here at design conscious we host almost all of our sites with hostgator, we send most of our correspondence and invoices out via email and because most of our client support is done over the internet – we hardly use cars to get around either. We obviously do have cars and we still produce a tiny amount of office waste, but we are getting there.

Our office is only used for a normal working week day but the websites we produce are hard at work 24/7 so it is vitally important to us that we make sure the carbon footprint for our hosting is better than zero. We think this is a responsible benefit that we can offer our clients.

Hire us as your web developer and do a bit more towards lowering your carbon foot print, join all our other far sighted clients who have allowed us to make their website Carbon Neutral!
